Throwback: Summer Holidays

Hey there,
while going trough the photos on my laptop I realised I have never posted the photos I took during the summer holidays. I went on a trip through some parts of Italy, Austria and Switzerland and for sure took some lovely snapshots. I really like some of them so I decided to share them with you and spread a bit of summery atmosphere. The weather outside is disgusting at the moment, at least where I live. It's cloudy, rainy and not wintry at all. We're not even going to get a white Christmas which sucks, but on the other hand we have quite the same weather as England at the moment, so it's not going to be that cold when I'm going to fly to London in a few days. But for now, enjoy the pictures of my summer!

What do I desire?

What do you desire?
What makes you itch?
How would you really enjoy spending your life?
What would you like to do if money were no object?
If you would say getting money is the most important thing,
you will spend your life completely wasting your time.
You'll be doing things you don't like doing,
in order to go on living,
that is to go on doing things you don't like doing,
which is stupid.
Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing
than a long life spent in a miserable way.

It’s so important to consider this question:
What do I desire?

The text above is part of the Days Of My Youth Trailer by Red Bull and I really liked it, so I decided to type it down for you guys, since it's very inspirational, at least for me. The film material is also quite breath taking, you should watch it. Find the original 'speech' thingy here. Check it out. Really. It's so amazing.

Liveacts

Hiya guys,
I just wanted to show you some live acts, that I haven't seen live yet, but that I definitely want to see live one day. Their performances are insane and so amazing, you should really check them out! :)

I actually wanted to post the live performances of Arctic Monkeys and Two Door Cinema Club from this year's Glastonbury here, but somehow it won't work, just search for them on YouTube!

Shake It Out

And I've been a fool and I've been blind
Regrets collect like old friends
Here to relive your darkest moments
I can see no way, I can see no way
And all of the ghouls come out to play
And every demon wants his pound of flesh
But I like to keep some things to myself
I like to keep my issues drawn
It's always darkest before the dawn

I can never leave the past behind
I can see no way, I can see no way
I'm always dragging that horse around
All of his questions, such a mournful sound
But tonight I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground
Cause I like to keep my issues drawn
It's always darkest before the dawn

Impressive People

Good evening beautiful people,
as I'm lying here in my bed, enjoying a bit of free time I thought it was time for a new blog post. A a bit random one, but who cares.
I've been doing nothing today, but watching videos, reading and reading a article that impressed me a lot, but it's in german and I'm gonna talk about it anyway on here in the next few days. So, other topics... hm. I went to school for four hours today and it was boring as always. I'm listening to my favourite indie playlist at this second, which is on 8tracks, you should check it out:

I'm probably going to take a shower soon and then go to bed early, because I have a ten hours day of school tomorrow. I really don't want to go but it's just one and a half week until winter/ Christmas break and only 19 days to go until I'll be in London. I'm so excited for that, but I think I have mentioned it before. But now, something more interesting.
I've just watched the first episode of The Rickshaw Run by JacksGap aka Jack Harries and his brother Finn.  Those two are one of the only few YouTubers that I still can stand and who's videos I still watch. They got pretty famous since I started watching and if I'm correct, they have over 3 Million subscribers now. That might come from those two being pretty fit and entertaining, but I really like them for what they use their fame for. They don't just fly around the world for no apparent reason and go shopping, no, those two do a lot of good things. Jack and Finn do a lot of charity work. For the Rickshaw run they travelled to India with a couple of friends, including Louis Cole aka FunForLouis, who also is one of my favourites. They travelled India in Tuk Tuks to support the Teenage Cancer Trust, which is a really good cause, if you ask me. Go and enjoy those idiots and if you feel like, go and donate a bit of money for this good cause (link is in the video description)!

That's it actually, have a nice week everyone!

Imagine Dragons Concert & Meeting Them

Good evening lovelies!
As I'm lying here in bed with a cup of tea I thought it would be the right time to blog about the past weekend. Well, what did I do? I went to a concert, wow that was hard to guess, wasn't it?
Anyway that concert was in Luxembourg. I've never been to Luxembourg before, but we really wanted to see Imagine Dragons live and the gig in Cologne, which was the closest for us, was already sold out and it was on the weekday. The gig in Luxembourg was on a Saturday so it was perfect.
On Friday Inga and Janina slept over at mine and we drove to Luxembourg on Saturday morning. After some complications with our car we finally got there around 11.30 am. Quite early I know, but we really wanted to be in the front row and the gig was sold out. The concert hall was massive, 6500 people fitted in there. We waited there and spend some time in the shopping center next to the venue until the doors opened around 7 pm. The first opening act was called The Moth And The Flame, but they weren't really my type of music so I can't say that much about them. The second opening act was Dan Croll and his band and they were fantastic! I had listened to their music before, so I kind of knew what to expect. Dan has a great voice and their music is really good. I recommend you to check them out, they're pretty fit lads, too! ;)
Find Dan Croll on YouTube & Twitter

Around 9.15 pm, I guess, Imagine Dragons were on. I don't even have words for their show, it was out of this world! I've been to quite a lot concerts already, as you know, but this was actually the best concert I ever went to. The whole crowd knew the lyrics by heart and sang along to every song. The whole band, but especially Dan Reynolds, the singer, was completely overwhelmed. He got really emotional during the show and because the crowd was so amazing they covered two songs instead of one, as they normally do. One of those two cover songs was Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana which made me more than happy because I absolutely love Nirvana's music. When the crowd voted by the loudness of the screaming which songs they should cover I was screaming Nirvana so loud and much that I practically coughed myself to death after that, haha. Here's the video, I'm gonna upload more videos during the next few days. (for some reason it won't blend in the video so here's the link.) It was insane, there were people from France, Spain, Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium and apparently Canada and The United States!

After the gig we went to the merch stand where Dan Croll and his Keyboarder Jacob were and we chatted to them for a bit and took photos. They're two really nice guys and I can't wait to see them hopefully again next year!

Then we went to the back entry where some fans told us that Imagine Dragons would come out around midnight or something and we went to our car to get my camera, because we had some time left until they would came out and wanted our photos to be in a good quality, too. On the way back to the back entrance we stopped by Dan Croll again and chatted for some more and took a few more photos. To his displeasure we took a 'funny' one or at least attempted to do one, haha. (Don't look at my face, I looked horrific that day)

After that we went to the back entry again and waited there for some more with some other german fans. First Daniel and Ben came out and I let them sign my ticket, I don't even know when Daniel went into the bus but probably when I took a photo with Ben, so I didn't get a photo with him. When Ben signed my ticket and wanted to give me my Edding back I accidentally let it fall to the ground, the clumsy person that I am. I shouted out 'Shit!' quite loud, ooops. I think it was Daniel, or Ben, I'm not sure who it was, who picked it up and gave it to me. They basically made fun of me every time I lend them my Edding, from then on, but who cares haha.  Next one to come out was Dan and he signed my ticket, but I didn't get a photo with him. Inga actually go one and I'm really happy for her, since Dan and the whole of Imagine Dragons mean a lot to her. Last one to come out was Wayne, since he apparently needed his time, haha. He's actually my favourite, he's the cutest guy ever haha.

After that we basically said bye and went to our car. We drove to the hotel and tried to get our heads around what had just happened. This insane concert that we experienced and all that stuff. We didn't sleep much, also mainly because the hotel bed was freaking uncomfortable. Around 12 am we checked out of the hotel and guess what? We stepped out of the hotel in our sweat pants and without any make up on and The Moth And The Flame were standing by their van in front of our hotel. So apparently they stayed there, too, haha.

I hope you all had a great weekend, too! Have a lovely week.

Favourite Places

Good morning everyone! :)
I hope you're all doing good. I really felt like blogging and thought about ideas for new blogposts. So I decided to blog about something that I really enjoy. Travelling. I haven't been to that many places out of Europe, but then again I've been to a lot European places. I really want to travel the world after I'll finish school, starting with a year in Australia and New Zealand with one of my closest friends! I'm so excited for it, one and a half more years to go.
So in this post I wanted to blog about my favourite places, I've been to already. There are actually three of them, I think. The first one is this small town in Austria, called Damüls. I go there every year at least once to go skiing. My family and I have been there every winter for at least the past ten years. It feels like home and winter time is actually my favourite time of the year, just because I can go skiing at my favourite place again. I'v also been there for the second time in summer this year, which was kind of confusing. because it looks a whole lot different in summer than it looks in winter. Here are a few photos of this beautiful place, enjoy!

The second one of my favourite place is probably another small town, but in the Netherlands this time. It's called Katwijk. I've basically been to every possible part of the Netherlands, including Amsterdam, but Katwijk is my favourite one. It's close to Den Haag and to Leiden, a beautiful city with a great university!
Katwijk is a town with a small center with cute shops and restaurants. It's close to the sea and they have some really cool bars on the beach! The drive to Katwijk from where I live is only about 4 hours, so that's cool.

My third favourite place is the capitol of England, London. I've only been there once, this April, but I immediately fell in love with this city, I really want to live there at some point of my life. I'm going there again this December/ January and I really can't wait. I just love how London is so multicultural and open to anything. People are very different there than they are where I live. London has it's personal style and I love how everybody seems to be their selves their. This might be a very naive view, but as I have only been there once yet, that's all I can say. Camden and Soho are probably my favourite parts of London. As I am a small town girl I am really impressed by how easily and fast you can get to any place in the city. I actually kind of dislike the Tube but then again I really love it! London is full of culture and creativity and it makes me really love this town.

What are you favourite places in the world? I would love to know! :)
