Southside Festival & The Fault In Our Stars

Good morning guys!
I just literally fleed upstairs from my parents having brunch with loads of their friends. I honestly could not take it how they were talking about their favourite topic aka school and university. They actually think it's easier today than it was back in their time. Let me tell you something, no, it is fucking not. You should walk a mile in our shoes and after that we could possibly have a proper discussion. But no, I remained politely silent and went upstairs instead. I'm currently sitting in front of my parents computer because my Laptop is still broken. I can't be bothered to fix it though because I don't feel like I need it. If I want to watch a movie or one of my favourite series, I can do it on the iPad and for the rest I just use my iPhone. The only part that is hard to keep up is blogging without the laptop. The Blogger app is ridiculously bad, so there is no other way than doing it on my parents' computer. Ugh.
Anyway today's topic is the festival I went to last weekend.
Last Tuesday my friend Inga picked me up and we drove to Stuttgart where our friend Sina lives. In the evening we went to the cinema with another friend to watch The Fault In Our Stars. We watched the german version and honestly, the synchronization is so bad, I nearly had to laugh. The movie was good and all of my friends, plus the rest of the cinema, bawled their eyes out. The only one that didn't shed one single tear was me. There were a few moments when I had tears in my eyes, for example when Isaac held his funeral speach in front of Augustus, but I did not properly cry for once. I have no idea why. I couldn't help comparing the movie to the book constantly. I bothered me how quite a few scenes where missing and things were played in kind of the wrong way, in my opinion.
By the way, two days ago it was announced that Looking For Alaska, another John Green novel, is going to be made into a movie to and to be honest, that annoys me so much. I read that book in my english course in 11th grade and know it by heart. It is one of those books that really shouldn't be put into a movie. It will be so hard to find the right actors for the roles and they will definitely choose the wrong ones. The main characters of the book aren't discribed as specifically atractive but they will probably cast some attractive hollywood stars so the movie will be more attractive to viewers. Even John Green once said that it isn't that kind of book that is made for a movie. After watching The Fault In Our Stars and I'm basically sure that it will come across the wrong way and that is quite depressing.

Back to the festival now. On Friday morning we got up quite early, picked our danish friends up from the train station and went to the supermarket to get food and alcohol, basically. We arrived at the festival around 11ish, I guess and parked our cars. The Danes got their stuff and went to the camp ground to build up their tent. We had decided to sleep in our cars which was actually the best decision ever, because we slept pretty well and it was quite outside.
We later met up with the others and seperated ways again, because not all of us wanted to watch the same bands. Sina and I went straight to the white stage, which was in a tent, because we wanted to be front row for The 1975. Three more or less okay bands later they finally came on and I was the happiest I could possibly be. Those guys make me feel some certain kind of way and it's the best thing to possibly axperience. We jumped, we danced and sung our lungs out. Even though I've seen them live a couple of times now it does not get boring. In my opinion they were the best act of the whole festival.
After their show we actually wanted to see Passenger but because of some incident we could only see a very small bit of his show. We later went to see Ed Sheeran but we were so far back in the crowd that it was like watching him on TV. So we went to see a bit of Tom Odell's set and later went back to Ed. They are both insanely good live. Some of our group went to watch Seeed after that but as I'm not interested in them Sina and I went back to our cars.

On the second day we wanted to watch George Ezra first but when we arrived at the festival slightly to late and the tent was pakced already so we just went to watch it outside on the screens. After that we went to see The Subways and they were insanely good. We went back to the cars after that and came back in the evening to watch Bombay Bicycle Club. Holy shit, they were so good! I've loved their music before but they've got such a positive energy on stage, it was amazing! Later that night we watched Casper on the same stage. I wasn't feeling very good, so I could not really enjoy the show but he was sooo good and had such energy on stage! He was one of the best acts there. I've met him back in march and he's not only a great rapper (plus a very attractive guy), but he's one of the kindest and loveliest people you could possibly ever meet. After him Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were on and they were absolutly brilliant! It was one big, fat party.
Oh and by the way, Saturday was our slut outfit day. The way people looked at us was the funniest thing ever. I got some lovely comments from the male gender and quite a few dirty look from the females, hahaha.

On Sunday we went to the festival ground quite early because we wante dto be barrier for Bastille who were playing around midday. The first act on that stage were To Kill A King and they were absolutely great! As they're friends with the Bastille guys, Bastille joyned them for their last song. After them there was some act on, called 5 Sterne Deluxe. We expected some school band or something but is was actually a quartet of 'older' me and one of the was Das Bo. He was a very popular rapper quite a few years back and we were so suprised to see him on stage, haha. He's actually such a cool guy and the show was very funny and entertaining. After them Bastille came on and were awesome a s always. By the way, my friend Sina is the girl that gave Dan the wolf hoodie he always weares. And anyway she gave a new one to him that day which he wore during To Kill A King's set. #IveGotTheCoolestFriends
We had a blast during their show and later went back to the cars. In the evening we went to watch Kraftklub. They had a smashing show and K.I.Z. joined them for their encore. This actually made my fucking life, hooooly shit. We sadly missed their feature with Casper because we went to see Lily Allen, but she was great aswell.

copywright to Dan for those great shots of the crowd during their set.

Sooo, this was my first festival experience. It was great, memorable, amazing, warm, disgusting, weird, funny, entertaining, sunny, tiring, strange but a blast and I already miss it!

Arts Project

Hola,
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Mine was full of stuff for school, but that's alright because I'm looking forward to next week. Germany's first football match is tomorrow and I'm going to the Southside Festival next weekend, which will be super rad. Yes, I actually just used rad in a blogpost.
Anyway, no more words of my life, since I should really go back to finishing my things for school. Ugh.
One of those things is a project for my arts intensive course with one of my friends. The topic was something about drugs abuse, etc. and we shot some pictures. I'm currently editing them into a brochure, but I decided to show you those pictures, because I actually think they look quite cool. There ya go!

Oi

Hey there,
again it has been quite a while. This post is not gonna be long either, since I'm on the iPad and I hate typing on here a lot. My laptop is broken, so there's no other way to do it. Today someone reminded me on my ask that I should blog more. I really should. But I just can't find the time and motivation to at the moment. There has been only a little of free time  in the past few weeks, between exams, having way to much fun with my friends,  doing a lot of sports, getting my driving license  and all that stuff. My life is treating me really good at the moment and I'm really happy and that's what matters, isn't it? I've had a quite few brilliant weekends in the past month, I've booked my summer and winter holidays and all together I'm just really excited for the rest of the year to come. Can you believe that 2014 is already nearly halfway over? Where did the past few months go? But isn't it like that, when you're having a good time? Everything just seems to be over way too fast.
Anyway I'll leave the past few weeks to myself, they're not blogging material. But my following holidays might be. During summer I will travel to St. Ives and the Isles of Scilly, England with one of my friends and I couldn't be more excited. I literally can't wait to blog pictures and stuff, I promise that I will take quite a few stunning ones. During winter I will drive to St. Anton, Austria with another friend and it will be fucking amazing. I already know that.
The next week might bring something interesting to, I'm not telling you yet, but watch out for it on my blog.
That's it for now, I'm tired of typing on this keyboard already. I will try harder to blog more. Promise!
